An architectural home built in the side of a hill overlooking the Clutha River. Floor to ceiling glass right across the north face, with honed polished concrete floors, taking advantage of thermal gain. The house was clad in solid plaster and cedar with large covered verandahs including large macrocarpa beams and posts.

This property was constructed with blocks forming both the exterior and interior walls. Insulation (Kooltherm) was attached to the exterior walls, creating a thermal break system, which provided warmth in winter months and a cool interior for summer months. Extensive use of Jarrah hardwood beams and posts throughout, with exposed rafters and ply ceilings giving a warm tropical feel. The property also featured hardwood floors, Tasmanian oak doors and trim.

The owners of this stunning new architecturally designed house wanted a home that made full use of its elevated north facing section. The home has large north facing sliding to take the owners outside for most of the year in sunny Tasman. The outdoor covered area was an absolute must for the owners who spend a large amount of their time outside. The kitchen is an absolute entertainers delight and features all soft close drawers and cupboards and has hidden had pulls for opening.

This cedar clad architectural home was built on a small knoll to take full advantage of the spectacular views and sun. The building comprises of thermally broken aluminium and a thermal break to the black concrete slab edge. There is a large workroom at one end of the house with living areas and bedrooms at the other end of the house. The solar gain from the black slab heats the entire house when the winter sun is out requiring no other heating.
